U.S. Reaches Record-High Number of Cosmetic Surgeries Performed in 2017

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) recently released their annual plastic surgery statistics report.
The report covered statistics on top procedures for the industry, including both surgical and minimally-invasive procedures. A recorded 17.5 million procedures were performed in the U.S. in 2017. This is a 2 percent increase in procedures from the previous year.
Breast augmentation was listed as the top cosmetic surgical procedure for the year, with a 3 percent increase from 2016 and over 300,000 procedures performed. Breast reductions also saw a large increase at 11 percent for the year, showing a large jump from the 4 percent decline in 2016.
