In a Week of Surprising Acquisitions, Will Syneron Be Next?

Hot off the heels of Allergan’s acquisition of Zeltiq and Hologic Inc,’s surprising purchase of Cynosure Inc., media reports are now swirling that British private equity fund Apax Partners is looking to buy Syneron Medical for $350-$400 million.
According to Israeli financial daily Calcalist, representatives from Apax met Syneron executives in Israel last week and the talks are being managed by Barclays.
None of the companies have offered an official comment on the report. Syneron’s products include UltraShape, VelaShape, GentleLase, VBeam Perfecta, PicoWay, Profound and elos Plus.
